Summer 2006
“Brother” Haj and Jackie (left - top photo) welcomed Devon Jag on May 12! The Sandhu family “adopted” me when we met at USF back in 1980. LOVE that Asian hospitality! I’d bring brothers Haj and Jag home from school and Mama Ted (aka Gurdip) would have an amazing Malay/Indian dinner for us every night. It’s still a treat, especially for an east coast girl who had never heard of Malaysia before! Hoping to go for my third time at the end of the summer... If not then, for “Mum’s” 90th birthday in February.
Our new baby books have been quite popular. We have three different styles. Click here for pricing options and additional information.
We started the spring with getting ready to adorn the lush new DayOne Palo Alto store with new images. With the help of our lab, we were able to display over 20 images, some as big as 40x50, throughout the store and in the windows... Thanks to Jennifer and Garrick and Moorea Mitchell’s arrival of baby Bryce.
And Madeline returns! After a brief stint at Checkerbox Photography, she rejoins us handling production with wonderful Kristen running the studio. Between Kristen (right - top photo - bottom), Diane, our consultation expert, (" " - right) and Madeline (" " - left), Tamiland is running smoothly and efficiently.
I’ll also be working with Michelle Wing of It’s Yoga Kids (left - second photo), a lovely new family-oriented studio with parking at 569 Ruger Street (the first left inside the Presidio’s Lombard Street entrance). Call It’s Yoga Kids at 415-561-0900 and mention Tami for your first class free.
My husband’s daughter, Susy (left - third photo - left), is really becoming a fish and an expert bike rider... anytime we can get to a pool, we’re there! She’s also become quite the photographer... posing and directing people at Alejandro’s 50th birthday party at the Highland Country Club in the Oakland Hills. Alejandro is the husband of Luz Meneses from Babyworld in Rockridge.
Two years after our wedding, during Pedro's spring break from SI, we finally went to Puerto Vallarta (right - second photo) for a second honeymoon. We stayed at our friend Mike’s condo. It was our wedding gift and we sure had fun with the local salsa teachers and other dancers.
After many months of too much to do (will that ever really end, and if so, do I really want it to??!!), I’ve finally started to walk again to my favorite place in SF, Stow Lake. It’s roughly 3 miles from Cole Street and there’s always something interesting along the way.
My obsession with funny chickens and nature was recently satisfied with a stop at Phipps Ranch in Pescadero (right - third photo) and then Butano State Park.
